While the results of this Election were not what we had hoped, I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to have met so many exceptional Colleyville citizens over the past several months. Running for office is certainly not easy, but it is an experience for which I will always be grateful. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and supported my campaign. I’m grateful for your support, I’m grateful for your votes, and I’m honored by your friendship. I look forward to continuing those friendships and continuing the conversations on how we can all work together for a better Colleyville. God bless each of you. And, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
Welcome to the Mark Skinner Campaign for Mayor of Colleyville website! I’m humbled that you are taking the time to discover my vision for the city of Colleyville, and how we can work together to ensure a dynamic and prosperous future for our city. I believe I share a common desire with every resident to help create the best possible environment for people to live, work and unwind.
It takes a unified and dedicated citizenry to build a truly great community. Whether it is through a position of leadership or casting a ballot on Election Day, each person plays a valuable role in defining where they live. Determining the direction and character of a community is not easy. It requires time, energy, sacrifice, and a willingness to embrace difficult challenges in ways that unite people in that common pursuit. Everyone is called to be a part of that.
Effective leaders accomplish their goals without denigration, intimidation, or antagonism. These characteristics are not beneficial in building unity. They consume valuable resources, promote single-issue focus, and distract from the pursuit of a common vision.
On the following pages you will have the chance to learn more about my philosophy of servant leadership. Please take a few minutes to read about both my qualifications and my desire to lead Colleyville as Mayor. My hope is that you will find a connection to this campaign and that you will join me in this pursuit, because I firmly believe we are better together!
